CAMP’s 45th Annual Conference

CAMP’s 45th Annual Conference geared up to be a memorable time.

High on our list of scheduled activities is “The Great War” including the Liberty Memorial and the National WWI Museum. We will also visit sites at Fort Leavenworth to include the POW Cemetery, Chapel, the old U.S. Disciplinary Barracks site, the Buffalo Soldiers Monument, the Frontier Army Museum and the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

We will also be touring the Battle of Westport, Big Blue Battle, Wornall House, Fort Osage, as well as a visit to the Truman Library and Museum, the battle sites of Lone Jack and Lexington, and the Confederate Memorial. Optional sites may include the Steamboat Arabia or the Union Cemetery.

The Add-On Day tour will include Civil War border skirmishes, John Brown’s Cabin and Museum, the site of the Marais des Cygnes Massacre, and at Fort Scott we will see the battlefield and cemetery, from there we will head west to the boyhood home of MG Frederick Funston, John Brown SHS and the Jack Black Battle site, (more or less, depending upon timing).

The Board of Director’s meeting and the Department Head’s meeting will be on Wednesday afternoon and the CAMP Annual Business Meeting on Thursday.

The Yount Auction will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00. Friday is an opportunity to visit Kansas City on your own and Saturday night we will hold our Annual Banquet.

The Hospitality Suite will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 and Saturday night after the banquet. BYOB, set-ups and soft drinks available.
