48th Annual Military History Conference

Reno, NV

May 7-11, 2014

This year's military history conference covered Reno, Nevada and the surrounding historic region.  The following is a very brief summary.

Thursday activities included paper presentations in the morning and then the opening ceremony at Powning Veterans Memorial Park

 

This was followed by a visit to the National Automobile Museum which had a special display of several of their World War II period vehicles.

 

 

 

Friday's tour schedule started with a visit to the site of Fort Churchill and then a visit to the Naval Air Station at Fallon. Some pictures, courtesy of Ron Plante, can be seen here: Fallon

 

Saturday’s tour schedule included the Nevada State Museum in Carson City and the Pyramid Lake battle site.
