Format for Journal Articles

We request double-spaced, typewritten copy with return postage.  Authors should submit diskettes that are compatible with Windows systems, along with photos or maps to illustrate the article.  We strongly recommend that authors only send copies of original photographs.  Although submissions are handled with care, CAMP cannot assume responsibility for their safe return.  The author is responsible for obtaining permission to publish any copyrighted material, and for bearing costs of obtaining or reproducing illustrations.  Length of articles should vary between 1,000 and 5,000 words.

Style should conform to standard academic practices.  We prefer endnotes, or simple notes on sources, to elaborate footnotes.  The editors may suggest changes to the author, or simply make changes without consulting with the author.  Although the editors make every effort to stay in touch with authors, please remember that the editorial process is generally measured in months.

The submission of an article is taken as evidence that the author willingly transfers publication rights to CAMP.  However, authors retain all rights for further publication or use.  Authors will receive three copies of the issue in which the article appears.  CAMP policy is not to pay honoraria for unsolicited articles.
